Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some pretty stellar small business owners. It’s really so much fun to bring their ideas to life.

A new business in the College Station area. They were hoping to make a distinctive identity among the noise of local builders. We went with mixed neutrals, classic lines and minimalism to reinforce their brand pillars.

Blogpreneur and doodle artist Emily O’Shaugnessey wanted a reboot on her blog. Her brand is her. Eclectic, intellectual mom life. We staged photos around her gorgeous home, mixing in the real mom life with moments of creative production.

I designed the site in Squarespace, with minimal graphic elements, focused primary on the words (she is a writer’s writer afterall). And used the color palette of her favorite mural (pictured here) to give a soft, warm and cheery palette.

Local food pantry needed a simple identity to welcome the community and be easy to print 1-color (budget, budget). Absolutely, I can do this! I believe in the importance of local food shelters. And it was a privilege to help out in some small way. My family & I wound up volunteering here for a while. It was an awesome collaboration.

Corey came with a fledgling hydroponic farm and an idea. Naked Roots Hydro Produce. He had also used a Fiverr designer to create an initial concept (see below). Together we identified the elements of his business and created a fresh, simplified identity suite for Naked Roots with multiple configurations to allow his business to grow (pardon the pun). I chose a classic green and a vibrant blue to give Naked Roots the ability to pay respect to the key elements of his buisness: the plants and the water. I believe this combination will give the new business the ability to appeal to the fresh, health-seeking clients and the restaurateurs that might be swarming for Naked Roots Hydro Produce in the future.
